It began in 1999, when the Health, Housing, and Human Services Council of Bainbridge Island received a major grant from the Glaser Foundation with a simple goal: figure out a way for the major human service providers to work together on the many challenges facing our community.

2. Elder-Friendly Community Initiative

In response to recommendations from the Needs Assessment Follow-Up Senior Action Team, HHHS developed an Elder Friendly Community Initiative. A steering committee made up of representatives from several Bainbridge Island agencies is guiding this effort.

3. Community Housing Coalition (CHC)

The CHC was in existence from 2005 through 2007.  At the beginning of 2008, the duties of the CHC were transferred to the City of Bainbridge Island 's Planning Department. 4. Housing Trust Fund

The mission of the Housing Trust Fund is to “…encourage development of moderate and lower income housing and to provide funding for income groups not serviced by other funding sources currently available.
