- L4 begins meeting regularly. This is the leadership
of CHC, HHHS, Housing Resources Board (HRB) and Kitsap Consolidated
Housing Authority (KCCHA) coming together.
- CHC at special joint City Council / Planning Commission
Affordable Housing Workshop on Feb 7 raising level of understanding
on Affordable Housing Ordinance (AHO) and Community Land
Trusts (CLTs).

- Healthy Community Checkup Project demographic profile completed.
- Co-Sponsor non-profit Financia Planning training with Bainbridge Community Foundation and the BI Arts & Humanities Council on February 29. Channie Peters, Speaker.
- Over 600 community members involved in outreach, focus groups and participate in online survey to develop Healthy Community Indicators as part of our Healthy Community Checkup Project.
- Co-Sponsor non-profit training on May 30 with Bainbridge Community Foundation and the BI Arts & Humanities Council on "Building a Sustainable Fundraising Model", Susan Howlett, Speaker.
- Healthy Community Checkup Report Published and distributed to the public and presented to various community groups.
2009
- Healthy Community Checkup Community Indicators Task Force formed to identify ways to measure community health over time.
- Over 70 people attended the 6th Annual Board Forum Event held at IslandWood. The theme was "Our Community Safetey Net in Action." The Human Services Element was reviewed, the Healthy Community Checkup Findings were presented, and each agency gave presentations on the services they provide to our community.
- Nonprofit Agency Capacity-Building Project. HHHS sponsoring a series of two Workshops using a grant from BCF. Each workshop will feature Laura Pierce, and will be followed up with individualized agency training.
- Over 35 people attended the Nonprofit Board Governance Workshop held on April 29. The workshop covered the role of the nonprofit board as well as best practices for creating a healthy, productive board culture.
- The Collaboration Workshop ocurred on May 13 to generate ideas for collaboration among BI health, housing and human service providers. Over 35 agency directors and board members learned about collaboration and the pros / cons of strategic restructuring. Possible future collaborations were brainstormed.
- As part of the Nonprofit Agency Capacity-Building Project, and a follow up to the two workshops, HHHS is scheduling individual agency coaching with Laura Pierce during the summer, 2009.
