> Community Connections
“Building a comprehensive continuum of services
for
Bainbridge Island residents.”
It began in 1999, when the Health,
Housing, and Human Services Council of Bainbridge Island received
a major grant from the Glaser Foundation with a simple goal:
figure out a way for the major human service providers to
work together on the many challenges facing our community.
The project was originally designed
to coordinate and enhance services for youth (ages 0 to 18)
in our community. Thus, Community Connections for Youth (CCFY)
was developed. Today, the scope of the project has been broadened
to include agencies that provide services to Bainbridge Islanders
of all ages, and the name of the project is now called Community
Connections.
The creation of the Community Connections
project is part of a broader HHHS effort to maintain a healthy
