Day of Volunteering!
May 1, 2010 -- Garden Makeover & Ice Cream Party
We hope you were able to join us as we “grew” community at the Garden Makeover and Ice Cream Party on Saturday, May 1 at the BI Senior Community Center.
This event brought our Community Connections agencies that provide health, housing and human services and Islanders of all ages together to benefit one of our local agencies: the BI Senior Community Center.
There were garden tasks, arts & crafts for kids, and activities for all ages. Discover additional ways to get involved or volunteer in the community.

Projects > Community Connections
“Building a comprehensive continuum of services
for
Bainbridge Island residents.”
It began in 1999, when the Health,
Housing, and Human Services Council of Bainbridge Island received
a major grant from the Glaser Foundation with a simple goal:
figure out a way for the major human service providers to
work together on the many challenges facing our community.
The project was originally designed
to coordinate and enhance services for youth (ages 0 to 18)
in our community. Thus, Community Connections for Youth (CCFY)
was developed. Today, the scope of the project has been broadened
to include agencies that provide services to Bainbridge Islanders
of all ages, and the name of the project is now called Community
Connections.
The creation of the Community Connections
project is part of a broader HHHS effort to maintain a healthy
community. The project includes:
• Just Know - Bainbridge Coalition for Parents & Youth
• Washington State Smile Partners
• YWCA
A.L.I.V.E. (BI Domestic Violence Program)
